So we thought we’d give you girls a chance to read about both the diamond and crystal microdermabrasion machines available to buy for at-home use.

Right now the overwhelming majority of home devices use diamond tip wands, including what we believe to be the best machine available for purchase.

Today we’re going to explain firstly how they work and secondly why they might be better then the crystal varieties like the Crystalift for example.

Can You Explain What It Is Really Quickly?

Diamond microdermabrasion basically consists of a machine that uses suction power, which runs from the machine to a wand on the end.

The tip of the wand is made up of a lot of tiny diamonds (usually synthetically made of course), that are used to clear away dead or dying skin cells that can be the cause of a lot of skin conditions including:

Acne
– Fine lines
– Wrinkles
– Melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation.
– And plenty of others.

When combining the coarseness of the wand with the suction power of the machine, treatment once every 10 days or so, should help to keep your skin free of the unwanted dead cells that can lead to the problems mentioned above.

The other benefit it offers is to allow the new healthy layer that exists below the top problematic layer to appear, which is better attuned to receiving helpful nutrients from the outside world, ie. Vitamin D from the sun.

The final result is usually an incredibly soft feeling that lasts certainly for the next few days.

Why Do More People Prefer To Use Diamond Microdermabrasion Over The Crystal Variety?

Initially before the sudden burst of at home products, most people looking for microdermbrasion treatment, usually went to clinics that used crystal machines. It wasn’t until recently that people have started to catch onto the fact there might be an easier and less messy way of conducting this form of treatment.

Diamond tipped machines are better for two reasons:

1. There is no messy crystal solution to apply before using the machine(these crystals have an uncanny ability to get caught in your skin leading to irritation and other problems)

The tiny diamonds are used to break away a lot of the dead or dying skin cells, but the job can’t stop there. In order to prevent any dead skin from clogging up your pores, you need to have a way of removing them first.

This is done of course through suction and the more powerful the machine is in terms of suction power, the better the results will be.

Suction also plays another major role in that it essentially helps grip the wand onto your skin, increasing its ability to better exfoliate in the process.

This is yet another advantage of the diamond tipped machines as each treatment should take no longer then 10 minutes to complete, as opposed to the crystal machines that tend to take longer due to their inability to clear away dead cells as effectively.

Is There Anything Else I Should Know?

Yes, as we mentioned earlier, you should only run treatment no more then every 10 days or so to allow you skin to properly heal itself. The reason for this is because not only are you removing dead skin cells, but a small fraction of healthy cells will also be removed as well.

Finally make sure you always wash before and after treatment and finish things off with a coat of moisturizer at the end to help make the healing process a little easier.
