Another blog post on something I love. So the reason I’ve been writing posts on skincare or beauty products in general is because I’m an addict. Yes, I admit I’m a sucker when it comes to skincare products and because of that, I’ve been stocking up lots of them that it annoys Babe.
And…what should I do with all of them? I can use them all up and forget about the effect they have on my skin or I can share on my blog to earn more side income! So here I am! 🙂 Introducing to you my latest set of skincare – Bobbi Brown Hydrating Skincare Range.
How I decided to get these is because I was in need of a new toner and stumbled upon reviews on the BB toner and please don’t ask why I ended up getting another 2 products (the smallest one is complimentary).
Left to right: Smoothing Cleansing Oil, Hydrating Face Tonic, Hydrating Gel Cream (for day use) and Hydrating Intense Night Cream (for night use)
I’ve been using this since my Shu Uemura cleansing oil finished and it’s been more than a month now. From the bottle itself, you can tell that it’s made of sunflower oil and jasmine flower extract, which smells really good!
However, I find that I need to use quite a significant amount of the cleansing oil as compared to that of Shu Uemura’s. Will I repurchase? Perhaps not. I shall stick to my HG cleansing oil – Shu Uemura. 🙂
I”m halfway through this toner now and I really like the smell of it. It claims to restore and balance skin after cleansing with its mineral water and cucumber extract.
My verdict? I like the scent and I think that is all I like about it. Ok besides the design of the bottle. Told you I’m a sucker for all things pretty!!! I don’t feel much difference on my skin and it doesn’t convince me enough to repurchase somehow.
This is one of the most expensive moisturizers I have gotten myself thus far. At the time I was buying it, it was the most expensive wtf. But I was sold because the sales assistant tried the cream on my hand and she claimed that it can also be used as primer. Well, guess what, it did look like there’s a layer of primer on my hand when she applied it!
But when I used it daily, it doesn’t feel like it at all! In fact, at the end of a day at work, my skin tends to look very oily! I mean yes, I have combination skin but it wasn’t as oily as this before! Because of that, I decided to use facial mist to control the oil secretion. T_T
The cream swatch on my hand.
As a comparison on hydrating moisturizer, the Olay Aquaction Hydrating Gel works even better than this!
To be honest, I haven’t used this yet. Okay, I’ll use it tonight and update this space again tomorrow morning. 😀 However, after the first 3 products, I do not have high expectation on this really. But, who knows right? Update: Ooo, amazingly this night cream is not as heavy as I thought it would be. It absorbs pretty fast and rather lightweight. My skin doesn’t feel greasy the following morning as compared to other night cream I’ve used before.
OVERALL: I think Bobbi Brown should just stick back to their cosmetics range. Their skin care range is a failure, at least for me. Not sure if the night cream will make a difference but let’s see!
