Who says you have to spend hundreds of dollars at the spa to be pampered like a queen? Give your face a healthy, warm glow by performing some at-home facials with items from your fridge. It doesn’t get any more natural than this! Follow these simple steps to bring out your inner zen. Oatmeal is an excellent skin relaxant. Remember all of those oatmeal baths your mother used to soak you in when you were plagued by chicken pox? It still has the same effect on your face. To make a simple oatmeal mask, cook up a half a cup of plain instant oatmeal. Add two tablespoons of everyday olive oil, and beat in one whole egg. Once it is thoroughly mixed, apply the oatmeal to your face and let it sit for fifteen minutes before rinsing off. Grape juice is also a great way to replenish your skin. Cut a few grapes of any variety in half and rub them on your skin.
After a few minutes, rinse your face clean. You can also mash a banana with one teaspoon of honey to use as a facial. Rinse the mixture off after fifteen minutes. This will help to both moisturize and exfoliate your face. If you’re not feeling the icky sticky honey, sub it out for some Vitamin E. Simply prick a pill with a sewing needle or safety pin and squeeze the oil over your mashed banana. Fold in the mixture, apply, and rinse in fifteen minutes. And don’t forget about the healing power of some plain yogurt. For some quick makeup removal, work the yogurt in a circular motion over your face. Rinse your face with warm water for a stunning cleanse. Or, for another clever facial, let the yogurt sit for twenty minutes before washing clean. Just about anything healthy for the inside of you is healthy for you outsides, too.
