Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure used to exfoliate dead and dry skin cells while ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Causing no superficial irritation, dermaplaning is a great and effective form of exfoliation. A mild enzyme peel is added to enhance exfoliation and product penetration.
Clients can receive this treatment as often as every two weeks, although it is usually recommended every 3-4 weeks.
– Removing dull epidermal skin cells allows topical products to penetrate more efficiently into the deeper layers of the skin.
– Dermaplaning triggers a higher rate of cellular turnover and an increase in the production of collagen. As we age, decreased collagen production plays a large role in the visible signs of aging. Treatments that increase collagen production are highly beneficial for overall anti-aging and skin rejuvenation, producing a smoother, more supple and vibrant complexion.
– Reduces hyperkeratosis, a buildup of the outermost layer of your epidermis. This buildup can cause dull complexions, improper product penetration and acne.
– Reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation. Dermaplaning is a beneficial procedure for decreasing hyperpigmentation because of its ability to increase penetration of products that inhibit the production of melanin such as kojic acid, lactic acid and retinol.
– Removal of vellus hair. Vellus hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oil in the follicles. Removing the hair results in the immediate reduction of that build up, leaving the skin softer and suppler and allows makeup to be applied smoothly and effortlessly. Removing vellus hair by dermaplaning does not cause them to grow back thicker or coarser.
