What is the post chemical peel advice and care?

Chemical peeling generally takes 10-20 minutes, after which, you may be released to return home or back to work etc.

– Are bandages needed after chemical peeling?

No bandages are generally necessary after mild chemical peeling. For medium or strong chemical peels, we recommend antibiotic ointment such as polysporin to be applied to the affected areas daily until complete recovery, which may vary from two to six weeks, depending on the depth and strength of the peel.

– When can I resume regular showers and washing after chemical peeling?

Showers can be resumed the same day after mild chemical peeling. Dr. Sinno recommends that his patients avoid hot baths or showers for at least 24 hours after medium to strong chemical peeling.

– When can I resume normal activity and exercise after chemical peeling?

You will be advised to refrain from all activities that may increase your heart rate or blood pressure including exercise, sexual activity, stressful situations, etc. for at least 24 hours after medium and strong chemical peeling. There are no physical restrictions after mild peels.
