Dermaplaning, also known as epidermal leveling or blading, provides a manual exfoliation by removing the outermost layers of dead skin cells. If you are looking for a non-invasive method of skin rejuvenation that leaves your skin smooth, supple, and vibrant, then dermaplaning may be right for you.
If the Denver sun has left your skin sun-damaged, dull, or dehydrated, we perform dermaplaning treatment at our Revalla office in South Denver, CO to help patients achieve a more youthful appearance, brightened through advanced exfoliation.
– Diminishing light surface wrinkling
– Smoothing acne scarring
– Helping to unblock blackheads
– Reducing pore size
– Removing facial hair
– Improving skin texture
– Evening out skin tone
– Generating new, healthy cells
– Enhancing the penetration of skincare products
During your facial rejuvenation treatment, we use a sterile, surgical blade to stroke the skin at a 45-degree angle. It’s similar to shaving, except your skin will be held taut during the stroking technique.
Regular treatments are scheduled 3-4 weeks apart. The dermaplaning blading technique will remove 2-3 weeks of dead skin cells.
Dermaplanning is a quick, non-surgical procedure that is pain-free. There is no swelling or pain associated with the dermaplaning procedure and patients can usually return to normal activities immediately.
Dermaplaning is a safe and effective treatment. Once your skin is dermaplaned, dead skin is removed, making it easier for helpful skin treatments to penetrate your skin.
Dermaplaning can reduce the appearance of acne scars by leveling the skin’s surface. If you suffer from severe acne, however, dermaplaning is not recommended because it can aggravate or stimulate acne breakouts in hair follicles.
A common myth is that dermaplaning will make your hair grow back thicker. Since the hair on the face consists of vellus hairs, it is physiologically impossible for it to grow back thicker since the structure of the hair does not become damaged.
