If you have:
– Dry, dull, or rough skin
– Hyperpigmentation in some areas of your skin
– Fine lines and wrinkles you want to get rid of
– Enlarged or clogged pores
If, on the other hand, you’re taking anti-coagulants, have fragile capillaries, diabetes, eczema, psoriasis, or lupus, or have an active skin disturbance such rosacea, herpetic lesions, severe warts, or dermatitis, then microdermabrasion might not be right for you.
A microdermabrasion, as you may have guessed from the name, is the abrasion of the skin (dermis) with microscopic particles. It’s somewhere between getting a facial and getting a deep chemical peel; it literally blasts your skin clean. It’s so powerful that Luxe Day Spa won’t give you one if you’ve already had one in the last two weeks — preferably three. The process is gentle enough that you can exfoliate your lips with it, but powerful enough that weak skin due to disease, medicine, or previous procedures can be punctured.
For those with the skin for it (and our experts will be able to make a confident determination if they have access to your face and recent pharmaceutical history) microdermabrasion can have amazing results. For those with:
– Acne and/or acne scars
– Enlarged pores
– Clogged pores
– Stretch marks
– Blemishes
– Fine lines and wrinkles
– Age, sun, or liver spots
– Other sun damage
– Blackheads
– Discolored patches
– Oily skin
– Dry skin
Microdermabrasion can be incredibly helpful in relieving these conditions. As a side benefit, it also stimulates the production of collagen in the lower levels of the skin, meaning that a week or two after the procedure, you may notice that your skin feels firmer and looks smoother than it used to.
