Aging baby boomers are getting eager in seeking ways to keep them young (not only at heart, that is). More and more facial care products are being introduced to the market today in response to this growing demand. If only there is a fountain of youth! Unfortunately, there’s none! But there’s a basic principle to looking young, and that’s what this article intends to point out.
The skin care industry has produced some of the most promising and effective ways of keeping our skin young. And although it is true that we need the right stuff on our skin, it is very important to understand that it’s essential to still have the proper foundation, and that is drinking water. In Dr. Colbert’s book, The Seven Pillars of Health, he noted that if you don’t drink enough clean water, you may lose your good looks. He also noted that water is the single best beauty treatment on the planet.
To elaborate further on the importance of water in taking care of our skin, consider a prune. Do you realize that a prune is produced when water is removed from a plum? In the same way, wrinkles are produced when your skin is deprived of water. Our skin was designed to hold in moisture to be elastic, depriving it with water causes it to lose its elasticity that no amount of wrinkle cream can cure it.
Aside from drinking water, there are other areas of focus to a better health: sleep and rest, living, food, exercise, detoxification, supplements, and coping with stress. Dr. Colbert, in his book The Seven Pillars of Health, wants to challenge and motivate us to pay attention to these areas. It’s what we don’t know that could be keeping us from enjoying good health—body, mind, and spirit.
Water has the ability to rejuvenate your skin and make you look younger. So, drink up and stay young! It’s the true fountain of youth!
